The festival is 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow in Burrs Hill Park, off Route 114 in Warren. Admission and parking is free.

Twice the reggae

Rejoice in reggae. The fourth annual Ocean State Reggae Festival is today and tomorrow, 1 to 11 p.m., in Ninigret Park, off Route 1 in Charlestown. This year a second stage has been added, which will feature the flamboyance of a Trinidadian carnival. Tickets are $50 at the door, $40 when purchased a day in advance: www.oceanstatereggae.com.

Up, up and away

Things are looking up. The South County Hot Air Balloon Festival is today, 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and tomorrow, 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the University of Rhode Island, off Route 138. There will be 15 hot air balloons for tethered and untethered flights, carnival rides, crafts and fireworks. Both days there are high-wire performances by the Flying Wallendas. Admission is $10, $3 for those 14 and younger. Visit www.wakefieldrotary.com.

A taste of Japan

Celebrate Japan in Newport. The 25th annual Black Ships Festival is today and tomorrow with exhibitions, demonstrations and performances. Events are today, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Touro Park, off Bellevue Avenue, and tomorrow, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Brick Market, off America’s Cup Avenue. Most events are free; some are ticketed. Visit www.blackshipsfestival.com, or call (401) 846-2720.

A touch of Ireland

Do a jig for Irish culture. The Blackstone Celtic Festival is today, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., in Diamond Hill State Park, on Route 114 in Cumberland. Among the featured performers are Atwater-Donnelly and Pendragon. Tickets are $15, $10 for seniors and $5 for children, 6-16. Visit www.riverfolk.org/brtcf.
