The 2008 Northeast International Auto Show is coming to the Rhode Island Convention Center this week, and you’ll find not only what’s available now, but what’s coming.
Six concept cars are making their first visit to Rhode Island: the Chevrolet Nomad, the Chrysler ME Four-Twelve, the Ford Airstream, the Ford Interceptor, the Lincoln MKR and the Suzuki SXBOX. You can look at them and dream or check out current models.
About 25 mainstream manufacturers will be at the show, displaying 2008 models, a collection of hybrids and a number of pre-production 2009 vehicles. And since it’s a non-selling show, there’s no pressure to buy anything.
The Convention Center is at One Sabin Street in Providence. Show hours are noon to 10 p.m. today and tomorrow; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $9 for adults (13 and over), $6 for senior citizens (62 and over) and $4 for children ages 7 through 12. Kids 6 and younger are admitted free with a paying adult.
