Butler Hospital, the zoo and annual bike ride seek help

Butler Hospital in Providence seeks a gift shop attendant to perform cashier duties and wait on customers in the hospital gift shop. This is a great opportunity for high school students to fulfill community service requirements, seniors interested in sharing their talents or individuals who want to meet new people. Hours are flexible for morning and afternoon shifts. Benefits include a 25 percent discount on purchases to gift shop attendants, free parking, and complimentary meals. In addition, prescription drugs are discounted for attendants who have no prescription drug coverage. Orientation to the hospital and training in the gift shop will be provided. The American Diabetes Association in Providence seeks dedicated committee event members and day-of-event participants for their annual Tour de Cure fundraiser on June 1. The Tour de Cure is a bicycle ride through the South County area. Interested individuals should have experience in recruiting, marketing, logistics, and customer service. Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence seeks teens, adults and small groups for a variety of opportunities. Docents at the zoo are needed to explain various exhibits to visitors as well as tell them fun facts and important information about conserving the environment. Special event members are needed to assist with Breakfast with Santa, School Vacation Week and more. Requirements vary according to each activity. • Communications II: Speaking Persuasively: Feb. 26 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center, Warwick.
