1. Why does projo.com require registration?

When you complete projo.com's simple one-time registration, you receive instant access to all areas of our site without needing to register again. Plus you gain access to our many news subscription services, interactive features and new products.  The registration process only requires you to fill in your email address, a password (selected by you), your year of birth and zip code.  Then you're ready to start taking advantage of all that projo.com has to offer.

2. Are you going to sell or share my personal information?

We share aggregated information about our visitors with advertisers so that they may better target their advertising on our site. By sharing aggregate information, we can better define our customer-base making our site an attractive advertising option for advertisers.

3. What are you doing to protect my privacy?

projo.com is committed to respecting the privacy rights of our visitors.  We have adopted a set of strict regulations and guidelines – see our Privacy Policy.

No outside parties have the ability to steal your information from our system. It is safely stored behind a secure system that is inaccessible to outside parties.

We respect your privacy and will safeguard your personal information.

4. Will I receive unsolicited email if I register on your site?

If you have not registered with us before, you will be asked to complete the simple one-time registration form.  At the end of the process, you will be taken to the MemberCenter home page. The second section is called "My Email Options."  At this point, you designate whether you wish to receive or opt-out of receiving our free newsletters or special offers and promotional material from our advertisers.

If you have opted-out, you will not be sent unsolicited emails from us.  At the conclusion of your registration process, however, you will receive an automatic email outlining the benefits of membership.  Rest assured that, if you've opted-out of receiving emails from projo.com, this will be the only email from projo.com you will receive.

If you are already a registered member of projo.com and would like to be included or excluded from receiving email announcements from our advertisers, please go to http://www.projo.com/sharedcontent/registration/membercenter.jsp and sign-in on the right by entering your email address and password.  If you do not remember your password, follow the "forget your password" directions and a new password will be immediately emailed to you.  Using your new password, you can then log in.  The second section on the MemberCenter home page is called "My Email Options."  Click on either the "Email Subscriptions" or "MySpecialsDirect" link and follow the instructions. Once you submit your changes, your updated information will be saved.

Please know that you may cancel delivery at any time. Allow two business days for processing. If you are still having problems after a few days, please contact us at help@projo.com.

5. How can I remove myself from your database?

To completely delete your profile registration, click on the "MemberCenter" link located at the top right-hand corner of the Web site. When prompted, enter your email address and current password, and click on the "Go" button to sign-in. You will be taken to the MemberCenter home page.

Next, in the Help Center section, select "Delete My Account" link to completely delete your account information. Please be aware that by deleting your account, you will remove all information about you from our active database. When you return to our Web site or if you wish to subscribe to an interactive feature such as an email newsletter, you will be asked to register again.

6. What if children try to register on your site?

In order to be compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), projo.com does not gather or store information from anyone 13 years old or younger. The moment we identify that someone is 13 or younger, we stop them in the registration process. We also immediately discard any personal information gathered from the child. 7. What happens if someone is not truthful in the registration process?

Your answers help us to tailor advertising and editorial content that will be of most interest to you. The information that you provide us on the registration form is our primary means of tailoring content. False or misleading information will result in a Web site that is not as interesting to you.

8. How can I change my account information?

To change your account information, click on the "MemberCenter" link located at the top right-hand corner of the Web site. When prompted, enter your email address and current password, and click on the "Go" button to sign-in. You will be taken to the MemberCenter home page.

Click on the appropriate link among the options listed on that page to modify your account information and follow the instructions. The system will automatically update itself once you've made your changes. If you are still having problems, please contact us at help@projo.com.

9. How do I subscribe or unsubscribe from a newsletter or from other products?

To subscribe or unsubscribe to one of our free subscription newsletters or from other projo.com email products, log in to projo.com using the handy "Log In" link in the upper right-hand corner of projo.com's home page.  Enter your email address and password and then click on the "Sign-in" button.  If you do not remember your password, follow the "forget your password" directions and a new password will be immediately emailed to you. Using your new password, you can then log in. 

Go to the MemberCenter home page (once you've logged in, there is a MemberCenter link in the upper right-hand corner of the projo.com banner).  The second section on the MemberCenter home page is called "My Email Options."  Click on either the "Email Subscriptions" or "MySpecialsDirect" link and follow the instructions. 10. How long are you going to be keeping registration information?

projo.com plans to keep this information as long as you are an active member of the site. If you do not return to the site for 12 months, we will remove your account information from our active database.

11. Will my email address or name appear anywhere on your site?

Not without your permission or unless it is part of a legitimate news story.

12. How secure is this registration process? Will anyone be able to steal my email or contact information?

We take extraordinary steps to ensure that our Web site is protected from "hacking" or other illegal activity. Your registration account is included in that protection. Projo.com is a legally protected product of AH Belo Corp. and we will use all measures at our disposal to protect our product and our members.

13. If you are customizing your content to me, does this mean that I don't get to see some of your site?

No. Registration ensures that you will have access to all sections of our Web site. "Customizing content" means that we make available to you the kind of content and advertising that would be of interest to you.

14. I requested a new password, but it was never sent to me.

When you use the "forgot password?" feature, our system automatically generates a new, random password for you and sends it to the email address you specified. Because this is an automated process, some email providers view this as spam or junk mail.

If you requested a password and did not receive it, please check your 'spam' or 'junk' folders for an email from help@projo.com. The subject line is 'Your new password.' If you do not find an email from us, please contact our customer service center at help@projo.com, as the email may have been automatically deleted.

15. I am a registered user, so why am I being asked to register again?

One reason you may be asked to register again is that the cookies we use to recognize registered users may have been deleted or may have expired. You do not need to go through the entire registration process; you only need to sign-in again.

To sign-in, look for the shadowed box with the title "Already a member?" located on the right hand side of the registration form. Enter your username and password, click on 'Sign In'.  You now have access to the entire site.
