1. How can I order Home Delivery or Mail Delivery of The Providence Journal?
Contact the Subscriber Services Department at 401.277.7600 to start home delivery of the newspaper. Or call toll free at 1.888.697.7656, in our local market area, only. Office hours are Monday-Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Weekends from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. We are closed on holidays.

2. How do I report a delivery problem?
If you have delivery questions or comments, please contact our Subscriber Services Department by phone at 401.277.7600 between the hours of 6 and 11 a.m., Monday through Friday, and between the hours of 8 and 11 a.m. on weekends to report any missed deliveries or wet or damaged papers delivered. (We are closed on holidays.)
Please report all delivery problems as quickly as possible so we may give them prompt attention. We will gladly credit your account. You may also
us with any questions or comments about newspaper delivery.

3. Can I pay for my Providence Journal subscription online?
This service is not available. Please call Customer Service for all payment options and information.

4. How do I suspend delivery of The Providence Journal?
You may

5. Can I search and locate articles on the Internet? If so, how far back do the online archives go?
Our paid online archives service at http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/projo/search includes the text of Providence Journal newspaper articles of local interest, written primarily by staff writers, dating as far back to January 1983. Articles are usually available within 72 hours after publication.
You may search the archives for free; there is a fee for retrieval of articles.

6. How can I obtain photos that appeared in The Providence Journal?
Some of the photos that appeared in the newspaper are available on our Web site, projo.com. You may download photos from projo.com for your personal use at no charge.
To download, place your cursor on the selected photo. Right click with your mouse; choose the save image option from the mouse menu, then save the image to the desired location on your computer.

7. Can I purchase back issues of print editions of The Providence Journal?
Back issues of the newspaper are not available for purchase. However, you may order prints of select pages from The Providence Journal, dating to its inception in 1829, via our paid online archive service.

Most Rhode Island Public Libraries carry past issues of the newspaper on microfilm. The main branch of the Providence Public Library has all issues of The Journal on microfilm since its inception. Call 401.455.8005 or go online to http://www.provlib.org/resources/ask/ for more information.

16. How can I submit a letter to the editor?
We welcome letters to the editor of The Providence Journal. Each must carry the writer's printed name, signature, address and daytime phone number. We strongly favor letters of 250 words or fewer, typed and double-spaced.
Please do not fax letters. Also, except in extraordinary circumstances, we cannot consider for publication columns exceeding 900 words.
When citing an article in the Journal, please give its headline, date and page. We reserve the right to edit submissions for space and clarity.
We regret that the large number of submissions means that we must limit the number we publish and cannot acknowledge their receipt. Writers will be contacted, however, if we have substantive questions.
