Southcoast Home Care, Hospice & Palliative Care and Infusion Services has a new “Caring for Caregivers” program. Drs. Robert and Barbara Greene discuss how caregivers can care for themselves as they care for others.
The first program will be Monday, Nov. 2, at 6:30 p.m. at the Southcoast Hospice offices, 200 Mill Rd., Fairhaven, Mass. The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call Jo-Ann Richard at (508) 984-0277.
The Better Breathers COPD Support Group will meet Thursday, Nov. 5, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Rehab Hospital of Rhode Island, Eddie Dowling Highway, North Smithfield. Pulmonary specialist Dr. Tilak Verma will discuss the difference between the shots for 2009 seasonal flu and the H1N1 virus.
Dr. David Schwindt will moderate a panel discussion on “Topics in End of Life Care” Thursday, Nov. 5, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Henry J. Nardone Conference Center, Westerly Hospital, 25 Wells St., Westerly.
The hospital will also host a presentation by certified geriatric-care manager Lisa Ryan and dementia specialist Rose Levine on caring for an Alzheimer’s patient, Monday, Nov. 9, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the conference center.
