Reader responds: Make your own 'juice boxes'

I have a pretty good tip (at least I think so). My daughter goes through juice like it's water. The cheapest I can get a bottle of 100 percent juice is about $2 (this is on sale and is somewhat rare, they usually are about $2.50). Instead, buy the concentrated 100 percent juice in the can and add water. Same brand and you get a 1/2 gallon of juice for $1.
Take it another step.... Juice boxes are a huge rip off, but they are convenient for school. A 6- or 8-pack of juice boxes is around $2.50-$3, sometimes higher! Rubbermaid makes plastic "drink boxes"
which have a tight seal top and comes with a heavy duty straw and a flip top. I bought two of them for $5 and I fill them up each morning with the concentrated juice. So for an initial investment of $5 for the containers, I am able to fill up nearly 10 containers for $1.
Save big $$$.
I'm looking forward to reading the article to get more tips. Food costs are outrageous and to get the same brand and quality for less than half the price is a GOOD DEAL!!!
