One place for new Patriot Homebrew

Heading to Foxboro for the New England Patriots game on Monday night? There’s a new beer to try and you won’t find it anywhere else.

It’s Patriot Homebrew IPA found at the Samuel Adams Brewhouse in Gillette Stadium during the football season. It’s the blend by Adam Walsh, a homebrewer from Massachusetts whose recipe for the hop-flavored IPA (India Pale Ale) beat out entries from all over New England to win the 2008 Patriot Homebrew Contest hosted by The Boston Beer Company, brewers of Sam Adams beers.

Before submitting his IPA to the Samuel Adams Patriot Homebrew Contest, he tested seven batches. While he worried that an international hops shortage would hurt his chances to win, Samuel Adams brewer and founder Jim Koch was able to source the hops needed for the recipe.
