Eastside Marketplace, 165 Pitman St., Providence, eastsidemarket.com, holds weekly themed Grilling Events every Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. beginning July 9 and continuing through Aug. 27. A donation of $3 for a serving will be collected with all proceeds benefiting the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. The grilling theme for each week will be posted on the Eastside Marketplace Web site.
South County foods, including jonnycakes and chowder, will be on the menu at the 4th annual Perryville Day Antique Auto Show at the Land Trust Barn, 17 Matunuck Beach Rd., South Kingstown, Sunday, July 5, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Laurent Vals Handcrafted Chocolates teams with the Newport Wine Cellar for a free July Fourth Chocolate and Wine Tasting event Friday, July 3, from 4 to 7 p.m., at 24 Bellevue Ave., Newport, with a summer-inspired collection of bonbons, including basil and lemon confit in dark chocolate, a creamy ginger and honey ganache in milk chocolate and lavender ganache in white chocolate. Fourth of July
CAV, 14 Imperial Place, Providence, (401) 751-9164, offers a Fourth of July cookout served outside in the courtyard (or inside if it rains) that includes pasta and vegetable salad, a half-pound Angus beef hamburger with all the fixings, a side romaine and wild greens salad, French fries and ice cream for $15. The regular menu, including brunch, lunch and dinner, is also available from 10 a.m. The Fourth of July fare is available from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and the regular menu, from 7:30 to 11 p.m.
Gregg’s Restaurants & Pubs are featuring a 4th of July Cake Saturday, July 4. The dessert is made up of four layers of red velvet cake filled with cream-cheese frosting and fresh blueberries. LJ’s BBQ, 727 East Ave., Pawtucket, is offering Rib Kits for the backyard barbecue and the Fourth of July holiday. Rib kits include full racks of either St. Louis or Baby Back ribs that are fully smoked and ready to finish on the grill, complete with instructions and sauce. The Pinelli-Marra Restaurant Group’s Seafood Summer promotion offering fresh seafood at value prices is offered for the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Each of the group’s eateries will offer many seafood specialties daily to be enjoyed in the dining room or al fresco on the Post Office Café’s Patio on Main and Pinelli’s Cucina and Grille’s outdoor seating section. Ponderosa Steakhouse, 562 Washington St., South Attleboro, (508) 399-7250, ponderosasteakhouses.com, has a dinner for two special that features a half-pound rib eye steak dinner along with its keep-it-coming buffet and beverages. The cost is $24 and is available every Thursday.
Forty 1° North, 351 Thames St., Newport, now offers a Day Access Program for a $50 fee — credited toward food and beverage — that allows access for two for lunch seven days a week or for dinner Sunday-Thursday. Pricing is $50 for two guests, fully-credited toward your meal at The Grill. The pass can be purchased on-site at the Forty 1° North gate house between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. The Grill specializes in prime cuts of beef and seafood, with a full complement of salads and appetizers. Menu standouts include the A-5 Japanese Kobe, Double Cut Colorado Lamb Rack, 24-ounce Dry Aged Cowboy Ribeye and a 4-pound Lobster Thermidor and a Trio of Lobster Rolls. Detroit-based comedian PJ Jacokes was awarded $100,000 as the grand-prize winner of Edy’s A Taste of Recovery promotion and has helped introduce the new, limited edition Edy’s Slow Churned Red, White and No More Blues flavor. The ice cream is a combination of vanilla ice cream with swirls of strawberry and blueberry fruit throughout and is available in a 1.5 quart carton that retails for $5.99. Jacokes was among more than 14,000 Americans who shared their stories for a chance to win. The Post Office Café, 11 Main St., East Greenwich, has opened its Patio On Main, an outdoor café and bar overlooking East Greenwich’s historic Main Street, and is serving a value-priced menu of beach-themed drinks, appetizers and burgers as well as its full menu. In addition, it is offering a “Wind Down” menu on Sunday afternoons.
