The American Lamb Board is holding its Get Your Grill On Video Competition. Fans of lamb can show off their most cherished grilling secrets from slow-smoked techniques to tried-and-true rubs. The winner receives a brand-new grill-on-the-go set, including grill tools and a portable grill for picnics and tailgating and a Labor Day bash barbecue package including lamb for six. Contestants should submit a three- to five-minute video showing how they get their grill on, specifying the recipe, what cut they used and why they love lamb. Videos will be accepted until July 13.

A winner will be announced on or about July 15. Athens announced its Fabulous with Fillo recipe contest, which begins Aug. 1 and continues through Feb. 1, 2010. Athens is looking for original, quick and simple recipes using Athens Mini Fillo Shells or elegant, restaurant-style recipes including Athens Fillo Dough. The finalist prizes are $5,000 grand prize and two $1,500 first-place prizes.

The contest is a real-time, interactive one with weekly and monthly prizes leading up to the finale (44 weekly prizes, $50 each; 10 monthly prizes, $120 each, and one Fan Favorite prize, $600). The weekly and monthly winners, which are judged by culinary professionals, will be announced throughout the contest on phyllo.com, where visitors to the site can comment and rate the recipes as they are entered.

The recipes will be judged using four main criteria for Fillo Dough recipes and four criteria for Mini Fillo Shell recipes. Each recipe can receive up to 10 bonus points (five points for a photo submission and five additional points for a video submission).

Entrants can submit as many original recipes as they want, as long as each recipe is substantially different.
