Remembering Pearl Harbor

On Dec. 7, 1941, the Japanese launched a surprise and devastating attack on the military base at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, spurring the United States' entry into World War II. The following sites provide historical documentation on the attack and current-day information on a memorial to its victims, as well as links related to last spring's movie, Pearl Harbor.

National Archives and Records Administration
Collection of documents on the attack, including three images of the "day in infamy" speech read by President Roosevelt to announce the attack to the public, the radiogram reporting the Pearl Harbor attack and audio recordings of the famous speech.

U.S.S. Arizona Memorial
Operated by the National Park Service, the memorial straddles the sunken hull of the ship, located in Honolulu, Hawaii.
