Marielle Battistoni
Lincoln High School

What's next for you?
I'm going to Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. I think I might want to double-major in English and science, but I also want to learn a new language.

What aspect of college are you most looking forward to? What aspect makes you anxious?

I'm very excited to meet new people and the take more challenging classes. I'm a bit afraid of the whole loans thing, and of college exams.

What do you hope to be doing in 10 years?
Something that I love.

What words do you live by?
"I had a lot of dates but I decided to stay home and dye my eyebrows." ~ Andy Warhol

If I weren't so busy I would:
learn another instrument, learn another language, read more great novels, travel more places, see my family more.

What is your most vivid high school memory?
The dances, the cross-country team, Spirit Week, Variety Show, band trips

What will you miss most about your high school days?
I will miss all of my friends immensely. Also, the whole small- town connection– the close bonds between everyone formed out of having nothing exciting to do in Lincoln :)

What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I was on Sesame Street when I was really young ( I was a Grouchketeer and got to pet Oscar!) when I lived in New Jersey (I was born in Texas).

How concerned are you about the environment?
Very; I am a vegetarian and an environmentalist (I love animals and nature).

What worries you most about the environment?
I am most worried that people will just build over all of the natural beauties of the world with man-made "beauties" such as concrete and asphalt.

If you could write a letter to your ninth grade self, what advice would you give?
Be less socially awkward. And less self-critical.
