God has a favorite high school and that is Attleboro High School, according to graduating senior Robert Burke.

After all that rain, the sun shone yesterday, as the Class of 2006 graduated, noted Burke, the class essayist.

Under a warm sun, blue skies and a breeze, 378 students received their diplomas during commencement at Tozier-Cassidy Field.

Salutatorian Adam Larouche told his classmates that they had built character in their four years at the high school.

"Our character determines how we make decisions about our lives. Our character determines who we are as people. The only way to make wise decisions is to know who you are," Larouche said.

Valedictorian Amanda Daniel told her classmates, "My wish for you is that you never have to look back and say what if?"

"There are no words of wisdom that can prepare you for the real world. . . . Go out there with a willingness to learn. Learn from each other. Use the positive and negative experiences."

Margaret Carvahlo, 83, of Attleboro, waited in the parking lot for relatives who came to see Brandy Leary graduate. Brandy wants to go to college in Boston but first she wants to work in hairdressing to make some money, said Carvahlo, who is Brandy's great-great-grandmother. She said about 20 people would see Brandy graduate.

"There's a lot of us and we stick together," she said.

Judi and Stephen Cellini and other family members waited in the bleachers for a glimpse of their daughter, Ashley Cellini, their youngest of two children.

Judi Cellini said school wasn't easy for her daughter but she made it that way. She was on the track team and was very popular.

Ashley will attend the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth to study marketing. Four of her friends from high school will attend the same college, her mother said.

"We'll miss her," Stephen Cellini said.
