04:29 PM EDT on Friday, May 15, 2009
If you see streams of out-of-state cars around Rhode Island this weekend, it's a sure sign that the college graduation season is upon us.
Friday afternoon, the Community College of Rhode Island holds its commencement ceremonies at the Knight campus in Warwick. The procession begins at 4:30 p.m.
This weekend, five schools will conduct graduations. They are:
* Bryant University: Undergraduate commencement will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Smithfield campus. The ceremony will be available for viewing live online. Advanced degrees were awarded Thursday.
* Rhode Island College: The undergraduate program begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday on the campus quad in Providence. The ceremony will be Webcast live. Advanced degree exercises were held Thursday.
* University of Rhode Island: The school will hold two ceremonies: the graduate school event on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Ryan Center, and the undergraduate program on Sunday, at 12:30, on the quadrangle, both at the Kingston campus.
* Salve Regina University: Ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday under the oceanside tent behind McAuley Hall on the Newport campus.
* Providence College: Sunday, at 11 a.m., at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence.
