Berson for 4-day week for town
Jim Berson, a Republican candidate for North Kingstown Town Council, says the town should look into shifting municipal services, with the exception of the police and fire departments, to a four-day work week.
In a statement, he says, “This concept has the potential to save taxpayers money through reducing energy costs, improving the quality of life for town employees who can save on commuting costs, and making town offices more accessible through expanded evening hours for the many residents who cannot get to town hall during traditional business hours.”
Berson says that many communities across the country have been successful in implementing four-day work weeks.
