About 30 members of the Latin Kings live in the Providence metropolitan area. Unlike many of the other gangs, the Latin Kings have a hierarchy and bylaws. They also have a national following with strong chapters in Chicago, New York and Connecticut. Involved in cocaine and marijuana trafficking. Most of the gang members are Latino, but some are African-American.

The police say that the Rhode Island leader is Eric ā€œEā€ Thomas, recently released from the Adult Correctional Institutions. Gang members often have tattoos of a five-pointed crown.
