Woonsocket police arrest Edimar Alves de Araujo on a traffic violation.
2:13:23 p.m.
Edimar Araujo's sister Irene Araujo speaks with Patrolman Omer D. Boucher in the Woonsocket Police Station lobby. The police say they expected Edimar Araujo to be released at that time, but then learned he was in the country illegally.
2:15:49 p.m.
Irene Araujo leaves the station. The police detain Edimar Araujo, pending the arrival of a federal immigration agent.

Gary Fernandes speaks on behalf of the Araujo family with Woonsocket Police Lt. Kenneth Paulhus. Paulhus says Fernandes told him Araujo "had a medical condition and would possibly be needing insulin."

Irene Araujo returns to Woonsocket Police Department lobby and speaks to Patrolman Omer D. Boucher.

3:29:15 p.m.
According to a statement from Boucher, Irene Araujo told him "that her brother had seizures and took medication for the condition," and Boucher replied "that her brother was being transported by Immigration to their facilities in Providence … and if he had medication at home for any medical conditions, she could inform ICE and take any medications he needed to their office in Providence."
