Antonio ``AJ'' Salvatore Jr., 17, is a senior at La Salle Academy, lives in Narragansett and has been a House page for two years. ``My parents are friends with Representative [Donald J.] Lally,'' the Wakefield Democrat who chairs the House Judiciary Committee. AJ also knows Rep. Richard W. Singleton, R-Cumberland: ``He just got engaged to my aunt!''

But it's in music, not politics, that AJ sees his career. A violinist for 13 years, AJ plays with the Ocean State Youth Orchestra and has applied to the Berklee College of Music. ``I want to do studio and production work rather than philharmonic live performance work.'' He has also applied to URI - he studies with URI professor John Dempsey - and Vanderbilt University.

For St. Patrick's Day, AJ performed in the House chamber, ``at the invitation of the Speaker [William J.] Murphy and [Majority] Leader [Gordon D.] Fox. I'm classically trained, but have really gotten into Celtic music. I played at Rep. Singleton's fundraiser last year and I guess Fox and Murphy were impressed.''
