Halloween party, complete with reptiles, to benefit Station fund

01:00 AM EDT on Saturday, October 29, 2005

A Halloween party to benefit the Station Family Fund will be held tomorrow at Regal Reptiles, 425 Washington St., Providence, from noon to 6 p.m.

The party will feature raffles, alligator wrestling, refreshments and a costume contest at 3 p.m. Entry fees are $5 for adults and $3 for children age 3 through 12.

The benefit will help pay for heating bills and other winter expenses for Station fire survivors and relatives of victims. The nightclub fire killed 100 people and injured more than 200 in February 2003.

The party is being organized by Gina Gauvin, of Johnston, who was badly injured in the fire. Gauvin will be raffling baby reptiles that she has bred.

If you can't make the party but would like to donate, call (401) 435-5744 or e-mail Gauvin at ornatesky [at] aol.com. For more information on the event, call Regal Reptiles at (401) 277-9000.
