Memorial services and benefits to commemorate the first anniversary of
The Station fire are being held throughout the state on these dates:
THURSDAY Station fire one-year remembrance, a
nondenominational service, will be held at Rhodes On-The-Pawtuxet, in
Cranston, at 7 p.m. It's free and open to the public with reserved
seating for victims' families, survivors and survivors' families. The
butterfly has been chosen as the theme for this remembrance as it
symbolizes hope and major life changes. Family members are asked to
bring nonreturnable mementos or pictures of their loved ones to be
displayed at the State House for 21 days and then moved to the state
archives.
KC's Tap, 530 Broadway, Pawtucket, will host an over-21 benefit show
featuring Nocturnal Sun (members of TUNG), Acclivity, Almost Speechless,
Cold Steel Crown and Satyr of Slugworth. Tickets are $5 at the door.
Show starts at 8 p.m. All money raised at the door will go to The
Station Family Fund.
"94-HJY Remembers the Doctor" and all the victims of The Station fire
with Paul & Al's 28.5-hour radiothon beginning at 5:30 a.m. Request a
song for a donation to benefit both the Doc Fund and The Station Family
Fund. The rock 'n' roll community has donated items that will be up for
bid.
FRIDAY FRIDAY Request For Relief Weekend on 100.3 KKB
marks the one-year anniversary of The Station fire with a fundraiser for
the victims and their families. From 10 a.m. on Feb. 20 till midnight on
Feb. 22, KKB will play song requests in exchange for donations.
Listeners who pledge $10 or more to The Station Family Fund will hear
their request on the radio. The KKB staff will be broadcasting from
several different locations over the weekend, including the Dartmouth
Mall.
Throughout the weekend KKB will list any and all businesses in the area

Bishop Robert E. Mulvee will celebrate Mass for the victims and
families of The Station fire at noon at St. Ann Church, 1493 Cranston
St., Cranston. Everyone is invited to attend.
The Station nightclub fire first anniversary memorial, a memorial
service at The Station site, Cowesett Road, West Warwick, will begin at
9:30 p.m. The event is being sponsored by The Station Fire Memorial
Foundation, Lt. Rick Ramsay of the West Warwick Police Department, the
Rev. Bruce Greer, the Rhode Island Victims' Advocacy and Support Center
(RIVASC), Paul Bertolo and Jody King. This event is open to the public.

A Night of Angels is a memorial tribute to 18-year-old actor,
playwright, singer, songwriter Nick O'Neill and features the first
fully-staged production of his one-act play, They Walk Among Us. O'Neill
was the youngest victim of The Station nightclub fire.
The play will be performed at the Stadium Theatre Performing Arts
Center, Main Street, Woonsocket at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 for orchestra
seats and $10 for balcony. All proceeds will go to the Nick O'Neill

Bull Run Restaurant, 215 Great Rd., Shirley, Mass., will host a Station
Fire anniversary show featuring Simply Rod (performing Rod Stewart),
Spread Eagle (tribute to The Eagles), DJ Stone performing his song,
"Eddie," and Mr. Breeze (tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd). At 11:05 p.m. there
will be a 100-second silence in memory of the victims and survivors.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Yoga Annex, 774 Main St., East Greenwich, will host a Yoga for Charity
class taught by annex owner and former 94-HJY radio personality Amy
Hagan. The class begins at noon and donations will be accepted. All
proceeds will benefit The Doc Fund and the Victims Relief Fund.
SUNDAY The Rhode Island Critical Incident Stress
Management Team will sponsor "A Time for Reflection and Renewal," a
gathering for all who served others at or after The Station nightclub
fire, at 2 p.m in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd.,
Warwick. The program will include music, readings and reflections, as
well as special music by the Rhode Island Professional Fire Fighters
Pipes and Drums. Light refreshments will be offered. For more

SATURDAY, MARCH 6 Potowomut Watch, a neighborhood
group, will hold a celebration of the life of Tracy F. King at the
Potowomut Country Club, Ives Road, Warwick, at 7 p.m. Tickets to the
dinner are $30 per person and are available by e-mailing

Dufault at 884-2191 or Jackie Procopio at 885-5858. Checks should be
made payable to the Tracy F. King Road Race. All proceeds will benefit
the Tracy F. King Memorial Fund.
