A Johnston woman who survived The Station nightclub fire died yesterday
in an apparent fall at her home, on the six-month anniversary of the
blaze.
Lisa Marie Scott, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Fire
Battallion Chief Henry Courtmanche.
The police and rescue personnel arrived at the Scott residence, on
Manuel Avenue, about 6 a.m., after an emergency call "for someone who
fell down a flight of stairs," Courtmanche said.
"She fell down and hit her head. There was massive trauma to the head,"
and Mrs. Scott was dead when firefighters arrived, Courtemanche said.
She was not taken to a hospital, he said.
The Johnston police said that the case was being investigated by
detectives, and no further information was available last night.
On Feb. 20, she had gone to The Station to see a friend, Steve Mancini,
perform in the band Fathead, the opening act. Mrs. Scott worked with
Mancini at Stop & Shop. He perished in the fire.
She leaves her husband, James Scott, two daughters and a son, as well as
her parents and two brothers.
