PROVIDENCE -- The General Assembly has established a Web site to help Rhode Island business owners affected by the state's new fire-safety codes, which were enacted in the aftermath of the Feb. 20 Station nightclub fire that claimed 100 lives.
The Web site of the Joint Commission on Fire Safety provides information on the new law and an online form to apply for low-interest business loans to install fire-safety devices.
The Web address is http://www.rilin.state.ri.us/gen_assembly/firecommission/fire.htm. The site also is accessible at www.rilin.state.ri.us, the General Assembly Web site.
The loans are available through the U.S. Small Business Administration.
