The firefighters of New York's Ladder
Company 6 made it out of the World Trade Center alive, in part because
they stopped to save Josephine Harris on the way down, says Battalion

While few can discuss what it was like
at Ground Zero, all felt the difficult job was worth doing. At left,

Assistance Team helps out at the site in the days following Sept.
11.
Thanks to her quick instincts, determination
and a bit of luck, Elizabeth Connell, a Lincoln High graduate, walked
down from the 94th floor of the World Trade Center's south tower last
Sept. 11 and away from certain death.
