PROVIDENCE / 11:40 a.m. -- Survivor contestant Elisabeth
Filarski of Cranston didn't win the CBS reality game show last year, but
she's made headlines again on the personal front -- marriage.
The 25-year-old wed former Boston College quarterback Tim Hasselbeck,
24, on Saturday.
Filarski's father, Kenneth, said the couple tied the knot before about
200 guests at St. Mary's Church in Cranston, affiliated with the parish
school Filarski attended through grade school.
They posed for pictures at the Rhode Island State House and were feted
at a reception at the Federal Reserve restaurant in downtown Providence,
he said. Their rehearsal dinner was the night before at the Aldrich
House in Warwick.
The couple left on a weeklong honeymoon at a location that was kept
secret from most, including family, Kenneth Filarski said.
On hand for the wedding were two fellow members of the Survivor
cast, her buddy Rodger Bingham and ultimate winner Tina Wesson.
Filarski hosts a show on cable TV's Style Network and had lived in
Newton, Mass. She said last year she could end up living wherever her
husband hooks on with an NFL team, or even Hollywood.
The petite blonde offers tips on looking stylish on a budget on her
show, called The Look for Less. She took that to heart by
designing her own wedding gown.
Filarski and Hasselbeck met in college, and their relationship survived
when Elisabeth was shooting on the Survivor set in Australia and
when Hasselbeck played in NFL Europe last spring, returning 10 days
before the wedding.
