Correction
• A story in Wednesday’s Journal incorrectly reported the age of an elderly woman who the Rhode Island State Police say was swindled out of more than $300,000. The woman is 82, according to her lawyer, Humberta Goncalves-Babbitt, who said she does not want to name her client publicly.

Jason Fanion, who was pictured on the front page of Tuesday’s Journal giving a swine-flu vaccine to a student, is a full-time firefighter in the Barrington Fire Department, which is a paid department. He volunteers to administer the vaccine as part of the Rhode Island Medical Response Corps. A caption with the photo misstated his status.

In the Cumberland girls field hockey Division I quarterfinal match versus East Greenwich on Thursday, two goals were scored by Kelsey Cahill and one by Stephanie Ribeiro. The goal scorers were incorrectly reported.

Correction
A story in Tuesday’s Journal gave incorrect information about one of the principles of HealthRIght, a coalition developing a Rhode Island-only health-care reform plan. The second principle calls for changing the reimbursement policies so that providers will no longer get paid based on quantity of tests and procedures.

Correction
The Judicial Nomination Commission, which will hold two meetings next month for candidates seeking to become an associate justice on the state Supreme Court, will convene in different places for each meeting. The commission will interview the six applicants on Nov. 10 at 5:15 p.m. in the third-floor conference room at the Department of Administration, 1 Capitol Hill. It will receive public comment and vote on the candidates at a meeting Nov. 17 at 5:15 p.m. in the Department of Health Building, Lower Level Auditorium, 3 Capitol Hill. The location of the Nov. 10 meeting was incorrect in Monday’s Journal.

Correction
Christina E. Garcia, who allegedly was struck in the head by a beer bottle thrown from the window of a building in downtown Providence, is an employee of Sojourner House, according to Kate Reilly, a project director at Sojourner House. Garcia’s employer was misidentified in a police report of the incident and the incorrect identification was repeated in a news article in Wednesday’s Journal.

Correction
State Sen. Rhoda Perry, state Rep. Frank Ferri, and former legislator Elizabeth M. Dennigan spoke in favor of gay marriage at a rally Saturday organized by Marriage Equality Rhode Island. Each spoke before the time the rally was scheduled to start. The speaking program got started early because organizers were concerned that the crowd, already cold from a march to the State House, would disperse, a spokesman said.
