Success in college topic of seminar

PROVIDENCE -- Information on time management, note-taking, scholarships, financial aid and returing to school as an older student will be offered tomorrow at the Liston Campus of the Community College of Rhode Island during registration for the spring semester of the Weekend College.

Courses leading to an associate's degree are held on Friday evenings and weekends. Classes begin Jan. 25.

The seminar, which the college said is designed to help students succeed, will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the campus, One Hilton St. Registration that day will be from 9 a.m. to noon. Telephone and online registration is under way. Call 455-6113 for information.

Courses include accounting, art, biology, business administration, computer studies, information processing, economics, English, Spanish, history, human services, law, mathematics, office administration, philosophy, political science, psychology, renal dialysis, sociology, speech, theater, travel and tourism.

PC faculty displays art

PROVIDENCE -- The work of the studio art faculty at Providence College will be on display at the Hunt-Cavanagh Gallery at the college Mondaythrough Feb. 22.

A public reception will be held Sunday, Jan. 20, from 2 to 4 p.m.

The artists are: James Baker, painting; Lynn Curtis, drawing; the Rev. Adrian Dabash, OP, sculpture; John DiCicco, ceramics; R. Newell Elkington, photography; James Janecek, printmaking, and Todd Lambrix, sculpture and three-dimensional design.

The exhibit is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
