This is a photo of my 1999 BMW R1200 motorcycle at 12,000 feet above sea level, in the Rocky Mountains, Independence Pass,on June 28th. It was one of several places I visited on this trip which followed the historic 2 lane Route 50 from Virginia through the Appalachians, the Plains, to the Rockies and returning by Route 80 through the Allegheny Mountains. The trip took 11 days. Of course, I had my wife's permission as long as we both take the same trip next year in our convertible.
