| Mark Banspach founded the Loose Change Band in 1979. Most of the band members grew up together in Smithfield, RI, hanging out together and jamming in someone's garage. Although their greatest musical influence is that of the Grateful Dead, they are not a Dead tribute band. Instead, they play their music in the spirit of the Grateful Dead, and continually change and grow, drawing on many influences and sources for their diverse repertoire. In addition to classic rock by the Grateful Dead, Loose Change plays original music and cover material from such bands as " Bob Dylan, The Band, Little Feat, The Allman Brothers, The Rolling Stones, and others. Loose Change has also opened for national acts such as: Max Creek, The Byrds, New Riders of the Purple Sage, and Merle Saunders & The Rainforest Band. |
