Spencer, now that she's divorced (for the third time).
Chips
Morton, 59, second of Claire's three ex-husbands.
A financial failure and heavy drinker; his ex-wife feels pity (or
more?) for him. Lives on houseboat on Newport Harbor.
Lucy
Hamilton, 68, dear old friend of Claire.
Lives on East Side of Providence, visits Newport often. Widowed and
childless, she has even more money than her friend.
Ted
O'Hara, 48, Mrs. Spencer's butler.
