High School Best Newspaper

Best Newspaper
North Kingstown High School

Good use of quotes. Stories are appropriate length. Numerous strong leads. A well written paper that is easy to read and enjoyable. The breadth of stories is impressive. The staff makes excellent use of the space the paper’s format provides them.

1st Runner-up
East Providence High School

This paper was easy to read, issue after issue. Excellent use of quotes. This paper does a super job of covering the school, its people and its issues. This is the most consistently well-edited and well designed student paper I have seen in some time.

2nd Runner-up
Cranston High School West

Consistently well-written with good journalistic form. Story choices show imagination and good news sense resulting in variety and good balance. I like the idea of the ‘mystery teacher, very cleaver. Page design is quite good. This paper exhibits maturity beyond that seen in most high school papers. The West Wind continues to produce first rate work.

3rd Runner-up
Moses Brown School

The stories are good and the writing is clear. A good look at the people that inhabit Moses Brown. A clean paper, easy to read. A good paper.
