"This is a classic tight in action shot from a high school basketball game. All too often, sports pictures have technical failures, but this one does not. The expressions on the players faces are all dramatic, and the picture captures the excitement of the game. Life magazine photographer Bob Capa used to say that 'If your pictures are no good, it’s because you are not close enough.' The tight nature of this picture makes it work well."
