1996 PECAN PIE
Here's an excellent pecan pie recipe. It's not as sweet as you'd think.
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup maple syrup
3 eggs, well beaten
1 1/4 cups broken pecan pieces
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon vanilla
9-inch pie shell, partially baked
Beat the butter to soften it, then add sugar and continue mixing while adding
the corn
and maple syrups. Beat thoroughly, then beat in eggs. Add nuts, salt and vanilla.
Turn
into pie shell that has been baked for 5 minutes at 350 degrees. Put pie into
350-degree oven for 20 minutes or until no filling adheres to the tip of a knife.
I find it
usually takes about 32minutes.
Serve warm or cold, with or without whipped cream.
