1999 BUTTER BALL COOKIES
1 cup soft butter or
margarine
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar plus additional for rolling cookies
1 tablespoon milk
1/4 cup dark rum
21/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Cream together butter, sugar, milk and rum. Mix flour and salt into creamed mixture; stir in nuts.
Roll into balls a little smaller than a golf ball and place on ungreased sheet. Bake 10 to 15 minutes, or until bottoms are golden. Be careful not to overbake. While still warm, roll cookies in confectioners' sugar and cool on wire rack. Makes two dozen cookies.
