The Providence Journal Newspaper In Education Program provides newspapers to local classrooms and a wealth of educational services to teachers including free curriculum guides, lesson plans, workshops and educational supplements that meet Rhode Island learning standards.

Sponsorship of NIE is a way to partner with us to benefit students, teachers and families. Our sponsors have the satisfaction of supporting literacy and critical thinking skills, broadening students’ horizons and helping to build the next generation of responsible leaders. Improving our children’s education is a community initiative and we need your assistance. Help us to continue to motivate and educate our local children by supporting this exciting initiative.

Through a partnership with the Newspaper In Education Institute, your partnership gift is tax deductible. For more information regarding our 501(c)(3) EIN number, please call Avis Gunther-Rosenberg, Newspaper In Education Coordinator, at (401) 277-7181 or email agrosenb@projo.com.

You can help, too, through your generous donation to NIE. For only $117 you can adopt a classroom for an entire year. The classroom of your choice will receive 25 copies of The Providence Journal each week for the entire 2004-2005 school year.

One sponsored copy of The Providence Journal will be delivered into the hands of a child for every 12 cents donated. For around the price of a cup of coffee or a piece of pie, we will deliver a day’s paper into an entire classroom.

The Providence Journal is grateful for the generous support of our educational partners.
