Who are the drivers?

NASCAR drivers are heroes and characters and personalities who earn their reputations based on their styles on and off the track — the way Dale Earnhardt earned his ``Intimidator'' status. There are drivers that the fans love to hate and those that they love to love.

There's Richard Petty — ``The King'' of stock-car racing _ who has the most career wins and the most wins in a season. And youngsters such as Kurt Busch, who logged his first Winston Cup win this year at Bristol, and Matt Kenseth, who was named Rookie of the Year in 2000.

And the real youngsters who are just dreaming of Winston Cup — they are the Bandalero drivers: the ``bandits,'' starting at age 8, followed by the ``young guns,'' eventually becoming ``outlaws'' at 17.
