Listen to the Holiday Jukebox

It's back -- Rhode Island's Holiday Jukebox, a hit last year.

Let's add to it for 2007. You're rehearsing, performing, singing together -- in crowded clubs, auditoriums, churches and synagogues. Please let the rest of us hear your best song. Record yourselves, and upload the mp3 at the link below. We'll feature your songs on our holiday jukebox.

What we're not looking for: Your best effort in the shower. Sorry.

Let's start here...

First, gather your materials: A DESCRIPTION OF YOUR GROUP, A MUSIC FILE and, if you have one, a DIGITAL PHOTO of the group.

You'll be asked to select a category for your music; choose the Holiday category. You will also need a paragraph describing your group -- from who you are to where we can hear you perform, if you do.(This will vary wildly. Feel free to mention anything that might interest your listeners.) If your group has a Web site, there's a place to list the link.

MP3 files are preferred because visitors to projo.com/music can easily stream these files to their computers; otherwise, they may have to download the file to hear it.

Photos of your group may be of any size and almost any format. For best results, your photo should be a JPG file of at least 400 pixels in width. Our software shrinks them a lot, so go for closeups.

Update: Check out YouConvertIt -- a fast, free online conversion tool. Upload your file, say what it is , say what you'd like it to be (mp3), wait. You'll get an email with a link pointing to a page where you can download your new converted file.

NOTE: There is no progress bar to indicate your music file upload is taking place. After filling in the information, and selecting your music file, click on "Upload" and then be patient. These are rather large files and will take time to upload. When your upload is complete you'll see a confirmation.
