1. How can I order delivery of The
Providence Journal?
Contact the Subscriber Services Department at 1-401-277-7600 to start home
or mail delivery of the newspaper, report delivery problems and stop or start
delivery during vacation. For our home
delivery areas outside RI call toll free at 1-888-697-7656

You may also

Because we may receive your e-mail at

2. How do I report a delivery problem?
If you have home delivery questions or comments, please contact our
Subscriber Services Department by phone at 1-401-277-7600 between the hours of
6 and 9 a.m., Monday through Friday and holidays, and between the hours of 6
and 11 a.m. on weekends to report any missed deliveries or wet or damaged
papers delivered.
Please report all delivery problems as quickly as possible so we may given them
prompt attention. We will gladly credit your account. You may also
us with any
questions or comments about newspaper delivery.
3. Can I pay for my Providence
Journal subscription online?
You may perform certain subscription
services online, incuding starting a new subscription and ordering vacation
stops.

4. What if I didn't receive my
newspaper?
If there is a problem with your newspaper delivery, please contact The
Providence Journal Co. customer service at 401-277-7600

Subscriber Service Office Hours are:
Monday-Friday 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Weekends 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Holidays 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
We will gladly credit your account or, if possible, arrange for a new

5. How do I suspend delivery of

7. Can I search and locate back
issues of The Providence Journal on the Internet? If so, how far back do the
online archives go?
Archives.projo.com includes the text of newspaper articles from
the Providence Journal -- written by Journal staff writers only -- dating as
far back to January 1983. Articles written by Providence Journal staff and other
selected articles are usually available within 72 hours after publication.
You may search the archives for free; there is a fee for retrieval of

8. Can I purchase or download photos that
appeared in The Providence Journal?
Photos that appear on projo.com may be downloaded for personal use only.
To request reprints of Providence Journal staff photos that

how to order and fees. Note: As of Jan. 1, 2008, this service is temporarily unavailable.

As of November 2001, tours are not available of The Providence
Journal newspaper facility.

The Providence Journal's Newspaper in Education program is designed to help
teachers integrate The Providence Journal into their classroom lessons. You may

19. How can I submit a letter to the editor?
We welcome letters to the editor of The Providence Journal. Each must
carry the writer's printed name, signature, address and daytime phone number.
We strongly favor letters of 250 words or fewer, typed and double-spaced.
Please do not fax letters. Also, except in extraordinary circumstances, we
cannot consider for publication columns exceeding 900 words.
When citing an article in the
Journal, please give its headline, date and page. We reserve the right to edit
submissions for space and clarity.
We regret that the large number of
submissions means that we must limit the number we publish and cannot
acknowledge their receipt. Writers will be contacted, however, if we have
substantive questions.
