Church, United Church of Christ, on a trip to help build a broken
community.

Michigan native and lifelong storyteller, Karen A. Davis
has been a reporter at The Providence Journal for nearly 13 years, covering
the city of Providence for the last 10, and at one time, writing a monthly
column with a focus on issues of diversity. Before coming to The Journal,
Davis worked at the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel for four years. Davis lives with
her two children in Providence.
Kris
Craig has been a photographer for The Providence Journal for over
20 years, covering news, fashion, sports and feature stories. A graduate of
the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in animal science, Craig worked
at five other newspapers in and around New England before arriving at The
Journal. He lives with his wife and daughter in East Providence.
