West Warwick Fire Marshal Denis P. Larocque examines the ruins of The Station nightclub on Feb. 21, the day after the worst fire in Rhode Island history. Larocque had inspected the club numerous times, but never noted the flammable foam sound insulation that covered its walls.

The music-loving nightclub owner bought the liquor license for The Filling Station in December 1995, and sold it in March 2000.

An insurance salesman and entrepreneur, he and his brother, Jeffrey, bought the liquor license for The Station nightclub in March 2000.

Jeffrey A. Derderian

The TV news reporter ran The Station with his brother, Michael.

Barry H. Warner

One of The Station's closest neighbors, he helped the Derderians buy packing foam to use as soundproofing at the club.
