Judge curbs pretrial comments in Station fire case
Updated 5:50 p.m. PROVIDENCE
-- The judge overseeing the criminal case stemming from The Station
nightclub fire said today he is ordering lawyers from both sides to
refrain from making further comments about the case so that an
impartial jury can be found for a trial.

-- Lawyers representing the owners of The Station, who are facing
involuntary manslaughter charges for the deaths of 100 people who
perished in a fire at their West Warwick nightclub, are asking a judge
to bar Attorney General Patrick C....

WARWICK
-- Superior Court Judge Mark A. Pfeiffer will privately review state
and town records related to the 2003 fire at The Station nightclub, to
determine if the records can be released under a Providence Journal
public-records lawsuit.

Derderians seek to block Lynch's comments on their case

PROVIDENCE -- Jeffrey and Michael Derderian, charged in the deaths of
100 people in The Station nightclub fire, are asking a state judge to
bar Attorney General Patrick C. Lynch from commenting on their case,
calling his remarks "inappropriate."

an award given by the New England Associated Press News Executives
Association.
