The Rhode Island Army National Guard has three military police units taking part in the post-war effort in Iraq. These three units, along with two Army reserve units, make up the 118th Military Police Battalion. The battalion is commanded by Lt. Col. James E. Keighley, a Fall River police officer.

The 115th Military Police Company includes about 125 soldiers now stationed at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.

The 119th Military Police Company includes about 145 soldiers stationed at Baghdad International Airport.

The 118th Battalion Headquarters includes about 60 soldiers stationed at Baghdad International Airport.
