The East Bay news staff welcomes your news releases, tips and suggestions about news events, feature and news story and photo ideas involving people and places in East Bay communities. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Our club news, birth notices, calendar items and other community announcements are coordinated in our office by Christine B. MacDonald. They may be dropped off, faxed, mailed or e-mailed to eastbay@projo.com .

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENTS: Information about births is provided by local hospitals and is published in the East Bay edition as space allows.

ANNIVERSARY ANNOUNCEMENTS: We publish news of celebrations of 50th -- or more -- wedding anniversaries. As part of this item, we will also publish a current photograph of the couple. As space allows, we will publish a photo take at the time of the wedding, as well.

YOUR TURN gives you the chance to express an opinion or make an observation about matters of local interest. Letters to the editor and commentary pieces must carry the writer's printed name, signature, address and a telephone number where the writer may be contact during the day. We do not accept letters to the editor via e-mail. Letters should be 250 words, or less, and may be edited for space and clarity. They are published as space allows. Letters on general issues, statewide and national matters, should be mailed to The Providence Journal, 75 Fountain St., Providence, 02902.

COMMUNITY DIGESTS are published for each community. We are interested in arts and entertainment events, awards, special club happenings, school news such as high school honor rolls, activities for children and notices of coming special meetings. Call, fax, mail or e-mail press releases to our office.

WEDDINGS AND ENGAGEMENTS are published Sundays. To obtain a form, drop by our office in Bristol or the main Journal office at 75 Fountain St. in Providence. For details on the timing for submitting completed forms and the use of photographs, call 277-7261. Forms and more information is also available at projo.com/weddings/.

PHOTO REPRINTS of any staff photograph published in The Providence Journal may be purchased. We can make black and white or color prints, but only of those photographs that carry a Journal credit line.
