Discussion Forum Rules and Registration

Welcome to the projo.com discussion forums. We invite you to use them to comment on stories, express opinions and discuss issues with others. Think of our forums as an "open house" for a diverse group of guests and opinions. We do not seek to limit or censor the expression of ideas from our guests.

The Providence Journal Company and projo.com value free speech. We also value the responsibilities that come with this freedom. To ensure that all participants enjoy and benefit from the discussion forums, we have established standards for participation.

If you do not agree to abide by the Forum Rules, you may not participate in the projo.com discussion forums.

Forum Rules:

1. Use your real name. You may not post messages or materials anonymously or under a false name. You are solely responsible for any statements that are posted using your account.

2. Do not use obscene or offensive language. You may not post or link to any material that could be considered obscene, indecent, lewd, pornographic, violent, abusive, insulting, threatening, harassing or in violation of the law.

3. Tell the truth. You may not post or link to any material that could be considered libelous, defamatory or false.

4. Do not solicit or advertise. Advertisements, chain letters, charity requests, petitions for signatures and any other commercial use or solicitation are prohibited.

5. Respect the privacy of others. Do not harvest or otherwise collect names, email addresses or other identifying information from other participants.

6. Do not steal. Post only those materials for which you have copyright. You may not post material that infringes the rights of others including copyright, trademark, trade secret, privacy, personal or other proprietary rights. You acknowledge and agree that any materials you upload will be in the public domain.

THE PROVIDENCE JOURNAL COMPANY AND PROJO.COM CANNOT REVIEW EVERY POSTING TO THE DISCUSSION FORUMS, VERIFY THE ACCURACY OF STATEMENTS MADE BY PARTICIPANTS OR DETERMINE WHETHER THE MATERIALS POSTED BY PARTICIPANTS VIOLATE THE RIGHTS OF OTHERS. ACCORDINGLY, YOU AGREE TO ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND LIABILITY FOR THE CONTENT OF YOUR POSTINGS. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY STATEMENTS OR MATERIALS POSTED ON THIS SITE.

We will, however, periodically monitor the site. Any messages that, in our sole judgment, appear to violate the Forum Rules may be deleted without notice. We reserve the right to remove any posting and limit or terminate access to anyone for any reason at any time.
