To All the Members of the 1-504th PIR, B Co. 82nd Airborne:
Hope you are doing well. Just want to say a big THANK YOU for your bravery and sacrifice in the service of our beloved country. I work just 6 miles from “Ground Zero” in NYC. Being on the “front lines” of the Homefront, we know all too well that freedom does not come free. Guess you could say we’ve “been through the fire” here, yet we carry on each day standin tall with heads high because of our awesome US Military; of which you all are a part. May God bless you and all those you love, and return you to them safely and soon. You will remain in my prayers. With my very best wishes, Pat

To the Heroes of the 82nd Airborne, greetings from Baltimore! Thank you so much for your service to our country. We are so proud of all of you; and we appreciate everything you are doing for us, our great country, and for the Iraqi people more than you will every know. President Bush said that all of you fighting this war on terrorism are on the "front lines of freedom." And we will never forget you. And you are in our prayers for your safe return home.

Hey Ya'll! I have 2 in the 1504 A Co, so had to write. :-) I actually wanted to share something with you that I had shared with my 2 in A CO. I hope that each of you enjoy it. I wrote it because of a blanket I got from my mom's job that was given to me because of my love of the Army.
"Blanket of Freedom" Every night, as I crawl into bed, I have this fleece with the logo of the Department of the United States Army on it, with the desert camouflage behind it. I use it as my top blanket as a reminder. A reminder of why I am sleeping safe and warm. I have had my questions on whether the attack on Iraq was right or wrong. Through self - analysis, soul searching and reading/listening to other opinions on the subject, I have come to this conclusion: YOU were right. You did your job. That was right. You outsed a tyrant. That was right. You freed an oppressed people. That was right. In the end, the attack on Iraq was right. That blanket reminds me of that. It reminds me that this was a choice you made. It was your choice. You made the choice to join the military so that I could continue to make choices about my life. In soul searching, seeking answers, one thought kept popping in my head: "To protect and serve". While that may be the motto used by the police, it came to symbolize you. You're protecting me by serving our country. It may not be so apparent now, but by fighting to free another country, you are securing my freedoms here. That, then, goes into this thought: you're fight for freedom itself. Not American freedom. Not French freedom. Not Irish freedom. Not German freedom, but freedom itself. You're fighting for the freedom to live without fear or retaliation. You're fighting for the freedom to worship the god or gods of one's choosing. You're fighting for the freedom to educate and be educated. You are fighting for freedom -- basic human freedoms -- which every man, woman, and child on the face of this earth should have and are entitled to. Then I think back to that blanket and realize it is soft and it is warm. It is a far cry from what you are enduring. So, one more night, I will cuddle under that blanket -- the blanket that now symbolizes freedom to me -- and pray for you and thank God that there are brave souls like you who will continue to fight so that I can sleep safe and warm under that Army fleece.
THANK YOU!
