MY SOLDIER
Today is a cold but charming day in late September The morning is brisk and chilled and the leaves are changing color. As I sit and drink my morning coffee, all I can do is remember, My insides turning, nerves are flaring, my soul is tightening and feeling smaller. I fight back the tears and hold my head up high As grasp my breath in the cool brisk breeze Knowing that I have two little ones that can’t see their mother cry I try so hard to make my soldier proud of the homeland and not to displease As I close my eyes and clench my hands in frustration I can see his face and his handsome blue eyes trying to sooth my soul As his half grin touches my soul and inner emotion As I hear his voice guiding me out of that dark forbidden hole. His gentle voice letting me know that he is going to be alright That he misses our alone times that are to, so passionate, But he is there to do the things that he was called to do, to make things right Here I am with a lonely soul and a image of his portrait Missing him and loving him unconditional, giving him all the support To let him know that he has a true and faithful wife that Is behind him all the way Knowing that my soldier is giving all his strength and effort Before we know it we will be saying he is coming home today. With arms held opened wide and four children running to daddy As I let the tears of joy run down my cheek as they all surround him Knowing that he will make it through the crowd to his darling lady As he wraps his arms around me and leaves behind the unjustly grim Before we know it this emotion of truth will come to reality instead of a just a dream Where we all can live in peace and harmony And face this big world together as family and a team No matter what we are his true roots and my soldiers sacred family. To my soldier that is reading this, everyone sends you all there blessings We all pray for your safe return and for your safety at war And before you know it you will be home and doing the debriefings Being together as a family and leaving behind something scary and bazaar. Hey Robert,
Hope you are doing well. Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for your bravery and sacrifice in the service of our beloved country. I work just 6 miles from "Ground Zero" in NYC. Being on the "front lines" of the Homefront, we know all too well that freedom does not come free. Guess you can say we've been "through the fire here", but we carry on each day standin tall with heads high because of our awesome US Military; of which you are a part.
Because you serve, Americans continue to board airliners with confidence and the people in NYC and DC can live without FEAR! Thanks for giving all of your fellow countrymen the gift that we cherish most....our FREEDOM!
May God bless you and all those you love, and return you to them safely and soon. You will remain in my prayers.
With my very best wishes,
Pat ~ HOOAH!
