Please accept my deepest condolences, and also those of my younger daughter, Emily I spoke with Emily on the phone tonight, asked her if she had known Matthew Coutu. She immediately replied, "PLEASE don't tell me he's dead". Emily was in ROTC at UMaine prior to transferring to a different college. She said Matthew was probably the nicest person she knew there while in the ROTC program. She is now stationed at Fort Hood, scheduled for deployment in the fall.
