CENTRAL FALLS — Fire damaged three rooms in the back of St. George’s Episcopal Church early yesterday but was quickly brought under control. No one was hurt.

Bid to acquire train station high on council agenda
PAWTUCKET — A measure giving the city the authority to acquire the Pawtucket-Central Falls train station was moved to the top of the City Council’s docket yesterday after languishing there for nearly four months.

New police dash makes job safer
CENTRAL FALLS – The idea occurred to him 2 1/2 years ago when he walked past a police car on South Main Street near Superior Court. Jr Neville Songwe peeked inside the car. He was struck by the clutter. The lap top, the radios, the buttons, the officer’s bag – all of it crammed into a small space where the officer sat. ``It dawned on me that there was no way a person could be comfortable,” Songwe said.

Charter changes approved
CENTRAL FALLS — After 49 years without a revision, residents here felt it was time to make amendments to the City Charter, yesterday voting in favor of changing the charter by a vote of 1,358 to approve to 590 to reject.
