Rivers shows frustration with Cavs' parade to foul line

CLEVELAND -- Doc Rivers was an unhappy, frustrated coach last night. His Celtics played a gritty, tough defensive game, limiting the Cavaliers to 33 percent shooting. But the Cavs dug in on defense, too, and were ably assisted by going to the foul line12 more times.
“Two good defensive teams. Both teams are playing hard. It’s just a tough series. Two very good defensive basketball teams,” Rivers said. “Honestly, I thought we drove just as hard as them. Somehow they ended up on the line. Somehow we didn’t.”
One call in particular was a stinger. Down by only five with a minute to play, Paul Pierce was called for an offensive foul. LeBron James was clearly moving on the play.
“I thought that the charge foul on Paul, you guys can take it from there. That’s a huge call to make,” said Rivers. “We played hard. I’m just going to stop there.”
Pierce shrugged off the call. “That’s just the breaks of the game,” said Pierce. “You have no control of it. I thought I got fouled but, hey, the ref saw it differently. You just have to move on.”
The Celtics certainly committed several silly fouls on bad reach-ins
