•Newport’s Burial History: Slavery and Freedom Tour, hear inspirational and revealing histories of Newport’s people of color on a visit to the Wanton-Lyman-Hazard House and a burial ground of early African residents. Fri, 3 pm.

•Pirates and Scoundrels Tour, hear stories of Newport’s swashbuckling past on a tour inside the Old Colony House and through the Point neighborhood Thu, 3 pm.

•Rum and Revolution Tour. Learn the role rum played in the seaport’s history on a tour that covers 300 years of drinking. Thu, 5:30 pm.•Taste of the Working Waterfront Tour, explore the wharves where chocolate, spices and rum were made and traded while hearing tales of sailors, boat builders, smugglers and merchants, working women and immigrant families Sat, 3 pm. FESTIVAL

Scituate Olde Home Day on the grounds of the Congregational Church, Route 116, North Scituate: Flag raising and National Anthem Fri at 10 am; on the Village Green: teddy bear decorating contest, pie-eating contest, fire trucks, pony rides, games and crafts for children, refreshments, hug-a-bunny, family activities.
