Let the kids have some outdoor fun! Bring them to the Audubon Environmental Education Center for summer nature adventures.
CAROUSEL

MUSEUMS
Cormack Planetarium and Museum of Natural History, Roger Williams Park, 1000 Elmwood Ave., Providence. 785-9457. Museum open daily 10 am-5 pm. Museum admission is $2, $1 ages 2-7. Planetarium admission is $3, $2 ages 4-7; no one under age 4 admitted to the planetarium.

•Planetarium show: Sky Views Sat and Sun 2 pm.•Space Adventure Weekend, celebrate NASA’s 50th anniversary with family activities including hands-on flight and rocketry adventures.

Special programs: Set It Straight, ages 5-11 tinker with a tabletop saw in FETCH! Lab Thu 3-5 pm. Choose Your Adventure, kids select from scavenger hunts and do detective work as they explore the museum Fri 9 am-8 pm. Clowning Around, ages 3-11 join a clown from the Big Apple Circus for amazing magic tricks Sat 1-3 pm. Free Sunday, the museum is open free the first Sunday of each month.
NATURE

•Discovery Stations, age 3+ take a close look at nature in the center’s Discovery Stations. Weekly themes include birds, insects, tide pools, whales, mammals and more Thu 10 am-2 pm. Included in admission.•Eco-Kid: Build an Edible Landscape, ages 3+ dig, plant, water and nibble as they create a mini edible garden and learn about the life cycles of a plant Sun11 am-1:30 pm. Registration required.

•Nature Hike-Awesome Big Puddle, ages 6-12 explore the world of wood frogs, spotted salamanders and aquatic bugs in a fun slide show and take a guided hike to discover all there is in our vernal pool. Thu 2-4 pm. Registration.
•The Lorax, children of all ages are welcome to see the Dr. Seuss classic, The Lorax Sat 10 am-noon. Registration not required.
•Nature Hike-Tracks in the Woods, ages 7-12 learn where refuge residents live, what they eat and how they move by following tracks and other clues in the woods. Sat 3:30-5:30 pm. Registration.
ZOOS

Crafty Creepy Crawlies and Bizarre Bugs, Fox Point Branch Library, 90 Ives St., Providence. 455-8112. Different bug related activity each week for ages 7-11. Thu 2-3 pm.
imPOSSIBLE Dream Playground, John D. Florio Memorial Park, 575 Centerville Rd., Warwick. 823-5566. Playground for children with and without disabilities. Daily 10 am-3 pm, except holidays and holiday weekends. Donations accepted.
